Drift Showoff was put on by Livesockets. This was the first real big drift event in the USA. They had all the top drifters from Japan. It was cool though because us US drifters got to participate too. I was driving my blue 944 at the time.

For a lot of people drifting was a new sport. We would drive down to Button Willow to practice drifting because it was a cheap track to rent. Some of the better guys at the time were Al Lagura and Alex Pfeifer.
